Join us for GCSU's 8th Annual William Harvey Address Oct. 24 with Dr. Robert Swerlick

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, Georgia College & State University will host its 8th Annual William Harvey Address, an endowed lecture series on medicine and society, in the Arts & Sciences Auditorium. Dr. Robert Swerlick will give a talk on “Cancer Overdiagnosis: Lessons from the Melanoma Epidemic.” Swerlick is a professor in the dermatology department at Emory University’s School of Medicine. He is also chair of the DataDerm Oversight Committee, which is part of the American Academy of Dermatology. He ran a lab funded by the National Institute of Health at Emory for more than 20 years. His work as a clinical dermatology centers on immunologically mediated skin diseases. Swerlick has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. The public is invited to attend.
