West Campus recycling audit results

The Georgia College & State University Office of Sustainability in partnership with Keep Milledgeville Baldwin Beautiful performed a recycling audit Nov. 8 at the West Campus Recycling Center to assess the recycling conditions on campus. In conclusion, almost half of the items in the dedicated recycling bins were waste and unable to be recycled. The blue bins around campus are dedicated to recycling and not trash.

The Office of Sustainability urges students and faculty to recycle correctly and not put waste in the blue recycling bins.

For information on GCSU’s Recycling Program and what can be recycled in the designated blue bins, visit the Office of Sustainability’s website: https://www.gcsu.edu/green/what-we-do and the recycling flier: https://www.gcsu.edu/sites/default/files/documents/2021-12/Recycle%20Flyer.pdf.
