GCSU Day of Percussion: Workshop
The Georgia College & State University Day of Percussion, Saturday, Feb. 15, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., usually includes hands-on master classes, clinics and performances covering: Rolling Techniques for all Instruments, Timpani Sound and Mallet design, Jazz Styles with Bass and Drums, Fundamental Afro-Cuban and Latin American Instruments & rhythms and their application and more! We are also highlighting solo and ensemble sessions, allowing them an opportunity to perform and be critiqued on their performance(s).
The 2025 featured guest clinician will be Miguel Castro, director of Percussion and assistant of Instrumental Music at Middle Georgia State University and percussion coordinator for the Houston County School System. Other percussion/guest artists include Dr. Sebastian Araya (adjunct Perc at Georgia College & State University and Anderson University); Dr. Don Parker, Georgia College & State University; and Chris Enghauser (bassist), Georgia College & State University.
