Visiting Writers Series: Matthew Carey Salyer
Matthew Carey Salyer is most recently the author of Probation (Pen & Anvil, 2024), finalist for the Michael Waters Poetry Prize, and the forthcoming pamphlet, inis (Wallop Press, 2025). His previous work includes the poetry collection, Ravage & Snare and a chapbook, Lambkin. His poems and essays have appeared in The Massachusetts Review, The Florida Review, The New Orleans Review, Southword, Narrative, Beloit Poetry Journal, Hunger Mountain, The Common, The Scores, Forbes, The Chronicle Review and numerous others. He has taught writing, literature and cultural geography courses at several universities, and his scholarship focuses on forms of empire and intercultural brokerage.
