Public life and public space in Milledgeville, Georgia
Students in Ethnographic Methods (ANTH 4950) will present findings from their semester-long ethnographic research project about public life and public spaces in Milledgeville, Georgia, at a public event hosted at Allen's Market on April 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. For this ethnographic research project, students participated in activities, observed daily life and conducted interviews at various public spaces around Milledgeville, including the the Oconee River Greenway, Walter B. Williams and city parks, Mary Vinson Memorial Library and its branches and Milledgeville's downtown area. At the event, students will present results from their research that point toward the continued importance of public spaces for increasing meaningful social interactions among Milledgeville’s diverse residents.
