O n April 25, students gathered at the Centennial Center – some arriving at noon – to see their favorite band. The 2025 Spring Concert catered to indie and alternative Bobcats with performances by Wallows, Medium Build and Subatomic.
The spring concert was electric, and an exciting opportunity for the GCSU students and alumni in attendance.
Wallows, comprising Dylan Minnette, Cole Preston, Braeden Lemasters and their set musicians, were this year’s headliners. Based in Los Angeles, Wallows just released their fourth studio album “More” on March 28.
Students who showed up early were in the very front of the crowd, excited to interact with the band members as they performed. Lead singer Minnette even managed to walk through some of the crowd while playing the harmonica.
Nick Carpenter, aka Medium Build, is a Georgia native who grew up in Alpharetta. Medium Build recently performed at Coachella, the world-famous annual music festival.
While on stage reminiscing about his own undergraduate years, Carpenter joked with the audience that he hadn’t been accepted to GCSU. “Georgia College was my number one pick!” Carpenter told the crowd.
Local band and 2025 ‘Battle of the Bobcats’ winners Subatomic opened for Wallows and Medium Build, performing covers of classic hits. Subatomic is a self-proclaimed “sexy” band and has definitely proved their appeal with crowd-pleasing performances.
