Graduation student speaker: Maggie Glover, exercise science
Maggie Glover, of Gray, Georgia, loved growing up around sports – so much so that she majored in exercise science.
“This major offered me an opportunity to grow my knowledge and pursue a profession where I could care for athletes, like me,” Glover said.
Glover is a standout player on the Georgia College & State University championship women’s and co-ed flag football teams, placing in the top three at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association Championship for two consecutive years.
“Being on the team allowed me to create and develop connections with other students,” Glover said. Glover has also been an active member of the Exercise Science Club and Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
Glover credits the Georgia College faculty with helping her learn and grow, especially Dr. Mike Martino, interim director and professor of exercise science and program coordinator; Clayton Faircloth, lecturer of athletic training and clinical education coordinator; and Dr. Austin Parks, assistant professor of exercise science.
“My professors were awesome,” Glover said. “They made a point to invest in and get to know their students.”
