Academic partnerships: Usery Forum on Leadership
Academic partnerships: Usery Forum on Leadership
As fall classes begin, Georgia College & State University invites all instructors to become Academic Partners in the Usery Forum on Leadership. You may opt in using this simple online form.
Brought to you by Georgia College Leadership Programs, the Usery Forum offers a trusted forum on citizen-leadership and pressing issues of the day. For more than a decade, we have brought together a diverse audience of scholars and students, as well as business leaders, non-profit executives, journalists and public officials. With a range of dynamic speakers, our events allow participants to gain and share insights and drive positive change — in their lives, in their organizations and across their communities. Click here to see our fall 2025 speakers.
As an academic partner, your role would be to incentivize student participation in the Usery Forum and, with our support, to integrate it into your courses. To support you, we would offer:
- Personalized invitations to your students.
- Tracking and reporting to you of student attendance at the Forum.
- Our Educator Toolkit, which includes:
- Sample syllabus statements, dates and milestones for the upcoming term.
- Our digital Usery Forum wordmark for your syllabus and GeorgiaView.
- Recommended pre-Forum and post-Forum discussion points for your students.
- Sample assignments, including assignments with integrated learning outcomes for GC1Y and GC2Y courses, First-Year Academic Seminar and internship courses.
There is no cost to you or your department. We ask only that you integrate the Usery Forum into your course (or courses), encouraging or incentivizing attendance.
