Open Call for Summer Bridge Scholars Program Event Proposals
The Bridge Scholars Program is seeking engaging events and activities for our incoming students. Our program aims to support students' academic preparation, personal wellness and community integration before the start of their college journey. We also want to promote all of the academic departments, student organizations, and other offerings from Georgia College & State University.

We welcome proposals from academic departments to introduce students to their disciplines through:
- Interactive workshops and mini-lectures
- Lab demonstrations and hands-on activities
- Faculty meet-and-greets
- Major and career exploration sessions
- Research project demonstrations
Events promoting student well-being and campus resources:
- Mental health and stress management workshops
- Physical wellness activities and fitness classes
- Nutrition and healthy living seminars
- Time management and work-life balance sessions
- Campus safety and resource orientation
Opportunities for student organizations to:
- Present their missions and activities
- Host interactive demonstrations
- Organize social events and mixers
- Showcase past projects and achievements
- Facilitate leadership workshops
Sessions focused on academic and personal success:
- Study skills and learning strategies workshops
- Library research and academic resources training
- Financial literacy and budgeting seminars
- Technology tools and campus systems training
- Academic integrity and college expectations
Event Requirements
- Duration: 30-60 minutes
- Dates: June 22 - July 22, 2026
- Interactive Component: Must include hands-on or participatory elements
