“NMDP Tabling event — Be the Start of Someone’s Second Chance, Join the Match Movement!”
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us table for NMDP on Monday, Oct. 20, and Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
NMDP (formerly Be The Match) connects potential donors with patients battling life-threatening diseases such as blood cancers — and joining the registry is as simple as a quick cheek swab. By volunteering, you’ll play a vital role in helping others take the first step toward saving a life. With that being said, getting swab and on the registry is a HUGE step in saving a life, so stop by any of our tables on either day to get added to the registry! Table locations will be: outside by the Max in the front by the road, on front campus around Atkinson and Parks, as well as by health sciences!
To make sure everyone feels confident and prepared, we’ll have a short virtual training video that you may watch! The training will help you understand NMDP’s mission, what to expect while tabling and how to best engage with potential registrants.
The recording will be sent to your school email so you can watch it on your own time. If you’re unable to complete the video training, your site lead can provide a quick on-site overview before your shift.
We do ask that everyone try their best to watch the training video, as it makes tabling much easier and more rewarding for both you and the people you meet.
