Campus Tech Cleanout

Campus Tech Cleanout

Following our successful Campus Shred Event, we are now focusing on old technology to create a clutter-free campus. Georgia College & State University technology is the property of the State of Georgia and must be disposed of in accordance with the Department of Administrative Services Surplus Property rules. Now is the perfect time to purge those dusty monitors, tangled cords, retired computers and forgotten adapters.

Besides freeing up desk and storage space, returning old technology offers the following benefits:

  • Data Security and Compliance: Ensuring that data stored on electronic devices, such as hard drives and phones, is properly destroyed before disposal.
  • Property Control: Identifying and tracking surplus state assets, preventing inventory issues and adhering to the Georgia Surplus Property Manual.
  • Recycling and Sustainability: Minimizing the environmental impact of electronic components in landfills through responsible recycling.

Please bring any unused or outdated state-owned technology, including:

  • Computers, Laptops and Tablets
  • Monitors and TVs
  • Printers, Scanners and Copiers
  • Power Cords, Cables and Adapters
  • Keyboards, Mice and Speakers
  • Cell Phones and Telephone Systems

Items can be dropped off at Chappell Hall 110. For instructions on handling large items, please contact Fred Godin at extension 1012.
