National Nurse Practitioner Week
National Nurse Practitioner Week
Georgia College & State University Student Health Services is proud to join the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and communities nationwide in celebrating National Nurse Practitioner Week, running Nov. 9-15, 2025. This annual observance recognizes the vital contributions of more than 461,000 licensed nurse practitioners across the country who provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
The 2025 National NP Week theme, "Trusted Voices. Proven Care," highlights the essential role NPs play in strengthening the nation's healthcare system. Nurse practitioners are highly educated, advanced practice registered nurses who bring a comprehensive perspective to healthcare, blending clinical expertise with an added emphasis on health management and disease prevention. They evaluate patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
Student Health Services is staffed with five board-certified and highly trained nurse practitioners. The mission of the Student Health Clinic is to provide quality assessment and treatment to students in time of sickness and injury and to promote a healthy lifestyle and wellness. The staff embraces a wellness concept along with an educational approach to help students achieve wellness and to gain the maximum benefit from their college experience.
