Gilman and Gilman McCain Scholarships for Study Abroad open!

If you receive a Federal Pell Grant, or if you are the dependent of an active or activated United States military personnel who is receiving Title IV federal financial aid, you are eligible to apply for a Gilman or Gilman-McCain Study Abroad Scholarship!

Gilman and Gilman McCain Scholarships are funded by the U.S. Department of State and offer recipients up to $5,000 for studying or interning abroad for credit for any amount of time, with additional funds available for students who are studying designated critical needs languages or who are pursuing STEM research or coursework abroad.

The March 2026 Deadline application is now open for applicants whose abroad programs or internships start between May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027.

Interested students should work with the GCSU International Education Center to identify study abroad programs. Application assistance is available from the GCSU National Scholarships office. Please reach out to Anna Whiteside (anna.whiteside@gcsu.edu) to schedule an appointment.
