Flannery O'Connor bonus Book Club and Smithsonian traveling exhibit: "Voices and Votes" in Eatonton, Georgia
The Flannery O'Connor Institute for the Humanities partners with the Georgia Writers Museum and Professor Emeritus Bruce Gentry for a special book club meeting in conjunction with the Smithsonian's "Voices and Votes" traveling exhibit. We'll meet to discuss Alice Walker's story written in response to Flannery O'Connor, primarily in response to the story "Everything That Rises Must Converge." The title of the Walker story is "Convergence: The Duped Shall Enter Last: But They Shall Enter." You will find a copy of "Convergence" at https://libguides.gcsu.edu/oconnor-home. (Scroll all the way down.)
The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 21, at 2 p.m. (in person only) at the Putnam County Admin Building, 117 Putnam Dr. (just off Hwy 441), Eatonton, Georgia. Gather in the exhibit space just before 2 p.m., and we'll find our way to the meeting room set aside for us.
It's a great exhibit, so come early and check it out, then stay for the book club meeting!
