Invitation to participate: 2026–2027 I Was First Too faculty, staff and administrator cohort

The Office of Community Engagement & Belonging invites faculty, staff and administrators to participate in the 2026–2027 I Was First Too cohort. This initiative supports first-generation students at Georgia College & State University by connecting them with faculty and staff who can serve as advocates, mentors and visible champions of student success. 

Nationally, first-generation students make up 54% of all undergraduate students, representing more than 8.2 million students across the country.
