Ballots and Ballads: Singing the Presidency in the 19th Century

Wed. Sept. 16 “Ballots and Ballads: Singing the Presidency in the 19th Century” will feature a lecture by Dr. Dana Gorzelany-Mostak, founder of Trax on the Trail, and a performance of campaign songs by the Max Noah Singers, directed by Dr. Jennifer Flory at 6 p.m. in Magnolia Ballroom, which is in the Student Activity Center. This festive event invites audiences to discover the role of sound in shaping the public's perception of presidential candidates during the 19th century. Baritone and GCSU alum, Dr. Bradley Sowell, will join as soloist with Dr. Lev Ryabinin on piano. This event is presented in collaboration with the GCSU Constitution  A $5 donation is encouraged.
