Dr. Steve Elliott-Gower selected for second year as CFR Education Distinguished Ambassador 

Dr. Steve Elliott-Gower, associate professor of political science, has been selected to return as a Distinguished Ambassador in the Council on Foreign Relations Education Ambassador program for 2026-2027.  

The Higher Education Ambassador program is an eight-month engagement connecting educators nationwide with a collaborative network dedicated to advancing global affairs literacy in the classroom. This year's cohort includes approximately 80 higher education faculty and administrators from across 42 states. 

“I now use CFR Education materials in all my classes. They are informative, timely and engaging,” Gower said. “I’m now at the point where I’m using their mini-simulation model to design my own simulations in a wider range of forums—the EU, the WTO, the G20–in ways that broaden global perspectives in my classes.” 

Gower's continued involvement underscores Georgia College & State University’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and perspective needed to engage with today's complex global landscape.
