Constitution Week at Georgia College & State University

Each year, Georgia College & State University celebrates Constitution Week, an opportunity for our campus and community to reflect on the enduring significance of the U.S. Constitution, explore its impact on American democracy and engage in thoughtful conversations about its meaning today.

Constitution Week 2026 will take place Sept. 17 - 23. In celebration, GCSU invites students, staff and faculty to participate in the following series of events.

• Usery Forum on Leadership featuring Greg Bluestein
  Kick off GCSU’s Constitution Week celebration with the Institute for Leadership and the Public Good at the Usery Forum on Leadership, featuring Greg Bluestein, the Chief Political Reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The forum will take place Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences Auditorium. Register to attend the Usery Forum.
   
• Ballots and Ballads: Singing the Presidency in the 19th Century
  Explore the intersection of music, politics, and American history with the Department of Music at Ballots and Ballads: Singing the Presidency in the 19th Century. The program will feature a lecture by Dr. Dana Gorzelany-Mostak followed by a performance of presidential campaign songs by the Max Noah Singers. The event will be held Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Ballroom.
   
• Supreme Court Review Panel
  A Georgia College Constitution Week tradition, the Supreme Court Review Panel brings together distinguished jurists and scholars to examine significant cases from the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent term. Panelists will offer insights into the Court’s decisions and their implications for law, policy and civic life. The panel will take place Sept. 22 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences Auditorium.
