Attend the Fall 2026 Aquatic Sciences Center Symposium!
Attend the Fall 2026 Aquatic Sciences Center Symposium!
Join the Aquatic Sciences Center and Aquatic Sciences Club for our fifth symposium on Nov. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Peabody Auditorium (Kilpatrick Hall). Our theme this year is "Aquatic Intersections," which reflects the interdisciplinary nature of this year's symposium and our collaborations with Academic Outreach and the Department of Art.
The evening will start with a brief poster and gallery session, featuring independent projects and student work from courses including Environmental Hydrogeology, Applied Aquatic Ecology, Water and Society, and Painting I. Academic Outreach will be present with hands-on educational activities. At 5:30, we will have a mini-talk series facilitated by ASC Director Dr. Sam Mutiti, featuring presentations on both artistic and scientific aspects of aquatic environments. Dr. Seth Wenger, professor of Ecology and director of science at UGA's River Basin Center, will be this year's keynote speaker. The symposium will end with food, refreshments and additional opportunities to discuss with presenters.
For students in aquatic research, this is the perfect opportunity to display your work and connect with other students and faculty. No matter your academic background, everyone is welcome to attend!
