Tuesday, Sept. 9 A Guest Artist Recital, “Beethoven’s Hammerklavier,” featuring pianist Francisco Silva will be at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall at Georgia College & State University. This performance will feature three of Beethoven’s late piano sonatas: Opus 90, 101, and 106, nicknamed the “Hammerklavier”-- considered to be the most difficult of his 32 sonatas. This concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. The faculty members Rebecca Cooke, clarinet; Laurie Peebles, flute; Steven Taylor, cello; and Hue Jang, piano will perform Classical and 20th Century music.   The trio by Beethoven is playful, while the “Voice of the Whale,” by George Crumb is mystical and a fantasy-like.
