Over spring break, GCSU English Graduate student NaYoung Seo presented at the American Comparative Literature Associations conference, hosted in Chicago, Illinois. With approximately 1,800 participants this year, NaYoung shared her work with two other distinguished researchers on a panel. On February 10th and 11th, the Georgia College and State University Writing Center participated in the 2023 Southeastern Writing Center Association conference in Memphis, Tennessee with 200 other attendees. The Writing Center will be celebrating National Proofreading Day on March 8th from 12pm-2pm! Proofreading is an opportunity to slow down and edit work after the initial effort has been put in. To reflect this, the writing center will have some relaxing activities and yummy treats available to students who stop by A&S 2-56A. Wonderful news! Georgia College and State University's Creative Writing Program offers our congratulations to Professor Laura Newbern, a winner of the 2023 Changes Book Prize in poetry. Her second collection of poems, "A Night in the Country," has been selected by 2020 Nobel Laureate in Literature Louise Glück as one of the winners of this prize and will be published in Spring 2024.
