Per Executive Order by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Georgia College & State University will lower its flags to half-staff Feb. 17, 2024, in honor and respect for the memory Sergeant Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, of Savannah, Georgia. Sergeant Moffett and two other soldiers were tragically killed in a drone attack at a base in Jordan Jan. 28, 2024. We recognize the sacrifices made by Sergeant Moffett who honorably served our country in the United States Army Reserve.

While visiting Georgia College & State University Thursday, Gov. Sonny Perdue, chancellor of the University System of Georgia, joined numerous other veterans from GCSU and Milledgeville to recognize Veterans Day. Veterans Day is celebrated Nov. 11, but this year the holiday is observed on Friday, Nov. 10.
