The Eve Puckett Giving Tree award is given by the GIVE Center to a student who has left a lasting legacy of service at the university. Each recipient plants a tree on campus as an act of giving back to the community. This First Friday, there will be plenty of entertainment for all age groups in downtown Milledgeville! March's First Friday presented by Five Star Automotive Group will host The Dave Matthews Tribute Band & The Junior Board Jamboree FREE for the community from 6-8pm all taking place in the Deep Roots main stage parking lot. You may have read the book “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein as a child. It follows the life of a tree and a boy. As the boy grows, he takes more and more from the tree, yet the tree continues to willingly give. The book has a much deeper meaning than just helping young children learn to read.
