Guest Artist Recital, "Voyage," featuring pianist Jasmin Arakawa

Monday, Feb. 27 Georgia College & State University welcomes guest artist Jasmin Arakawa for a 7:30 p.m. concert in Max Noah Recital Hall. Like a voyage, this program will travel through piano music from different lands—Europe, the Americas and Asia—connecting audiences to new cultures and experiences. Come listen to “Fantasia” by European composer Joseph Haydn; “On a Quiet Lake” by Florence Price and “Troubled Water” by Margaret Bonds, both African American composers; and Javanese music inspired by travel to Southeast Asia by Leopold Godowsky. This concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GC Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email music@gcsu.edu or call 478-445-8289.
