Honors College Alumni of the Year
The John E. Sallstrom Honors College is pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Graham (2005, Psychology) has been selected as Honors Alum of the Year and that Dr. Dorianna Dobson (2018, Biology) and Kevin Morris (2017, History & Economics) have been selected as joint Honors Young Alums of the Year.
Dr. Graham earned an MPA from GCSU and an Ed.D. from UGA and now serves as GCSU’s Interim Chief Diversity Officer and as a founding director of the Women’s Center. Her research on sexual assault, dating violence, camps-based advocacy and other topics, has resulted in numerous conference presentations, journal articles and book chapters. Graham has also secured major grants and significant state funds for the center, which reaches approximately 6,000 students each year through more than 80 programs, workshops and events.
Dr. Dobson earned her M.D. from Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah and is pursuing a residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She has conducted research on Ellis-van Crevel Syndrome, Burkitt’s Lymphoma, transcutaneous bilirubinometers and related topics at Mercer, Vanderbilt and other medical centers. Dobson has presented that scholarship at numerous conferences and she is publishing it in leading medical journals.
Morris earned a Fulbright to North Macedonia and a Marshall Scholarship to the UK, where he completed M.S. degrees in International Relations and Conflict Resolution at the London School of Economics & Political Science and King’s College London, respectively. He now works as a Young Global Professional at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center and this summer is pursuing advanced study in South Slavic Languages at the Melikian Centre through a U.S. State Department Title VIII Critical Language Fellowship.
The Honors Advisory Board chose Graham, Dobson and Morris from a pool of highly competitive nominees. Congratulations to each of them, as well as the other nominees! Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to the members of the Honors Advisory Board.
