Georgia College & State University’s Honors Program newsletter will be known as Honorable Mentions: The Newsletter of the John E. Sallstrom Honors College. First-year Honors student Morgan Gosdin suggested Honorable Mentions in a contest to determine a new name for the newsletter. Members of the Honors Faculty Council selected the name from a slate of entries. At the Honors graduation banquet each spring, Eta Sigma Alpha—the Honors College’s student association—recognizes faculty with Distinguished Faculty Awards and Honorary Memberships in Eta Sigma Alpha. Last week was an especially significant one for the John E. Sallstrom Honors College.
