Bobcat Volleyball's Machovec caps off outstanding career with All-Conference honor

Georgia College & State University volleyball outside hitter Rachel Machovec earned an all-Peach Belt Conference second team honor Thursday (Nov. 16) evening.

This award marks the fourth all-conference selection for Machovec, making her only the ninth player in conference history to achieve this honor. Machovec picked up a second team honor in the 2019 season, then picked up first team honors in both 2021 and 2022.

"Rachel is beyond deserving of this all-conference nomination," said Head Coach Abigail King. "Her work ethic, dedication and leadership make her truly stand out as an athlete and as a person as well. She has left her mark on GCSU volleyball, and this program. We cannot thank her enough for what she has given us and left us. We are very proud of her. Congratulations Rachel."

Machovec ended the 2023 season participating in 106 sets. She made the most of her last season as the teams kill leader with 355 and led the team in kills per set with 3.35. She also led the squad in digs at 350 and 3.30 digs per set. Machovec picked up 44 service aces good for second most on the team.

As the regular season came to a close, Machovec ranked third in the Peach Belt in kills per set (3.39) and fifth in digs per set (3.31).
