"Artificial Intelligence in the Holistic Classroom:" Call for nominations

Are you looking to learn more about AI and teaching in academia? If so, please consider the Governor's Teaching Fellows Program (GTF).

The Governor’s Teaching Fellows Program, hosted by the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia, invites applications for the 2024 Spring Symposium, “Artificial Intelligence in the Holistic Classroom.” The Spring Symposium will be held May 19-23, 2024, on the UGA campus.

The GTF program, established by Gov. Zell Miller, provides full-time, regular faculty members with the opportunity to develop their teaching skills alongside their peers from across the USG. Participants receive a stipend to cover travel expenses, meals, and lodging. The 2024 Spring Symposium Fellows will have the opportunity to work with a variety of experts to experiment with AI, craft classroom activities and homework and explore bias and ethical issues around AI in higher education.

Any full-time, regular faculty members are eligible for this program, although preference will be given to faculty who primarily teach undergraduate students.

If you would like to be nominated for the Governor’s Teaching Fellow Program, please inform of the CTL of your interest by sending us an updated copy of your vitae and a statement that captures how AI might affect your teaching. Please send this via e-mail no later than Jan. 12, 2024. You can reach us at ctl@gcsu.edu.
