Georgia Collegiate Honors Conference
Georgia Collegiate Honors Conference
On Feb. 24-25, Honors students participated in the Georgia Collegiate Honors Conference held at the University of North Georgia. Kassie Arps, Courtney Brandon, Ivan Chu, Katie Cooper, Maryellen Hagberg, Sydney Irons, Sofia Legoff-Flores, Juliann Mackiewicz, Chloe Melton, Blakely Queen and Wesley Sutton presented their scholarship, and Tommy Creekmore participated in a panel on Honors student leadership. They did a great job with their presentations. And Chloe Melton won Second Place in the Humanities/Social Sciences category of the GCHC paper competition for her research paper on “The Queer Experience under the Nazi Regime.”
Alongside Tommy Creekmore, Emerson Hamm and Shani Thompson attended the conference to represent Eta Sigma Alpha—the Honors student association.
Special thanks are extended to Honors Assistant Director & National Scholarships Coordinator Anna Whiteside for driving a vehicle, arranging an excellent dinner on Friday night, and taking photos.
