Reminder: Summer 2025 USG Goes Global - Faculty Teaching Application now open. Cycle closing soon.

The University System of Georgia system's "USG Goes Global" (USGG) study abroad program is seeking faculty for teaching positions with its summer 2025 study abroad (SA) programs.

  • Deadline: Midnight, May 2, 2024
  • All interested faculty are encouraged to apply.
  • Interested faculty can find details and/or start an application here.
  • Before applying, discuss your candidacy with the Georgia College & State University International Education Center.

Because USGG is meant to serve as a kind of SA training ground (administrative aspects of USGG programs are handled at the university system office level so faculty can focus on academic content) faculty who may be less familiar with teaching - or directing - programs abroad are especially encouraged to apply.

USGG currently maintains active programs to European destinations including England, France, Ireland, Jamaica, Portugal, Rwanda, Scotland and Spain.

  • Faculty can apply to teach on an existing program or submit a proposal for a new location, subject to its approval by the appropriate USG World Regional Council.

Selected faculty will be expected to teach two, 3-credit hour undergraduate courses, with at least one fulfilling a degree requirement within the USG's Core curriculum. Course delivery is hybrid, combining virtual learning with in-person lectures and leading field trips abroad. Grades will be reported in INGRESS, and course content will be in GeorgiaView.

If you are interested in applying for a USGG Summer 2025 teaching position, or one of the open Program Director positions, first discuss your candidacy with the GCSU International Education Center and then submit a USGG application by the above-stated deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

  • Questions? Contact the USGG Program Office at global@usg.edu or (404) 962-3192.
