Guest Artist Concert: "From Bolivia with Love: an evening of violin and piano music"

Tuesday, Sept. 3 Pianist Sergio Ruiz, former chair of Georgia College & State University’s Music Department, returns to campus with violinist Javier Pinell for a concert, “From Bolivia with Love: an evening of violin and piano music,” at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. Ruiz is now professor of music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He and Pinell, a professor of violin and chair of string studies at Sam Houston State University, chose to perform the unique style of Bolivan melodies and dance rhythms, combining Andean folk elements with European traditions of art music. Come on a musical journey that will transport you from plateaus of the Andean Mountains to exotic rainforests of the Amazon. Produced by GCSU’s Owen Lovell, this concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. Online donations can be made at give.gcsu.edu/g/department-of-music/. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GCSU Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc.
