Bobcats selected to finish fourth in PBC 

AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll for men's cross country has been released.
 
Georgia College & State University has been picked to finish fourth in the league.
 
Augusta University was top choice in the poll of men's cross country coaches with eight first-place votes and 64 points, while Flagler College was next at 57. Columbus State University was third with 45 points and was followed by GCSU (43), Clayton State University (33), University of South Carolina-Aiken (31), Lander University (22), University of South Carolina-Beaufort (19) and Georgia Southwestern State University (10).
 
Augusta won the PBC Championship for the fifth time in a row. The Bobcats return five runners their 2023 team that finished in fourth place at last year's championship, including reigning PBC Freshman of the Year Daniel Laird.
 
The 2024 PBC Championships will be hosted by the University of North Georgia Oct. 26 at its UNG Cross Country Course located in Oakwood, Georgia.

The Bobcats open the season Sept. 6 with two meets. GCSU will compete at the Eye Opener hosted by the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Bobcats will also compete at the GMC Brickyard Invitational hosted by Georgia Military College at the Council Farms Cross Country Course.
