Volleyball selected fifth in the league

AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll for women's volleyball has been released.
 
Georgia College & State University has been picked to finish fifth in the league.
 
Augusta University, which won its second consecutive league regular-season title and the PBC Tournament for the fifth time in the last six years, collected three first-place votes and 15 points to edge Lander University, who picked up the other two first-place votes, by a point.

University of South Carolina-Aiken is in third place with 10 points and was followed by Flagler College (7) and Georgia College (4).
  
The season gets underway Sept. 6 and 7, as GCSU will host its annual Bobcat Classic. The Bobcats will welcome Southern Wesleyan University, Albany State University, Lee University and Young Harris College for the two-day event. GCSU will face Southern Wesleyan at 2 p.m. before hosting Albany State at 7 p.m. Sept. 6, while the Bobcats will entertain Lee (2 p.m.) and Young Harris (7 p.m.) on the final day.
