Water Education Week:  Stream Monitoring and Clean-up Events

It's Water Education Week!  What better way to learn more about water than to get your feet wet? Join us Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Tanyard Creek for a cleanup and monitoring event and/or Friday, Oct. 18, for stream monitoring of Champion and Tobler Creeks!

  • Oct. 16: Tanyard Creek by College Station (3 - 5 p.m.)
  • Oct. 18: Champion Creek at Lake Laurel (9 - 10 a.m.) at Georgia College & State University's East Campus
  • Oct. 18: Tobler Creek at Andalusia Farm (10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.)

No experience necessary. Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes that can get wet. We will use Georgia Adopt-a-Stream methods to test temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and pH of the streams, all while enjoying the beauty of Georgia College! We monitor monthly, so check back for more opportunities.

This is a GCSU Thirst for Knowledge event.
