Fall Break program in New Orleans
Fall Break program in New Orleans
Over the recent fall break, from Oct. 12 to Oct. 15, the Honors College took more than 40 students to New Orleans, where they visited the World War II Museum and the Whitney Plantation and toured the French Quarter. Highlights of the trip are featured in this slideshow, which student assistant Allison Decker created from photos taken by participants, of which Allison was one. As you can see, the students—including those in Dr. Newsome’s World War II class—found the experience deeply meaningful.
Honors faculty, staff and students are grateful to all the generous donors who made this program possible. Honors College assistant director Anna Whiteside and bus driver Earnest Harper played key roles in carrying out the program. Administrative assistant Linda Moon and former student assistant Jacob Carter provided instrumental assistance with planning. And each of the students was a superb representative of Georgia College & State University.
