Bobcats to face Cougars at 5 p.m. Friday in PBC Tournament semifinals
AUGUSTA, Ga. | The times for the semifinals and finals of the 2024 Peach Belt Conference Women's Soccer Tournament have been announced.
As the highest-remaining seed, Columbus State University is the host for both the semifinals and finals of the tournament.
Georgia College & State University (9-6-3), which is the No. 4 seed, will face top seed Columbus State University (17-0-1), which is ranked No. 2 nationally, in the first semifinal of the tournament at 5 p.m. Friday (Nov. 15) at the Walden Soccer Complex in Columbus, Georgia. GCSU, which has won its last five matches, is making its first semifinal appearance in the tournament since the 2018 tournament, which was also the last time the Bobcats appeared in the title match. The Cougars defeated the Bobcats 4-0 in the meeting between the two teams earlier this season in Columbus.
The other semifinal match Friday (Nov. 15) pits No. 2 seed University of North Georgia (11-3-2) against No. 3 seed Flagler College (8-2-5) at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinal winners will meet in Sunday's (Nov. 17) 1 p.m. championship match. The PBC Tournament champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II national tournament, which begins Nov. 22 on campus sites.
Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased online in advance at https://peachbeltconference.org/sports/2020/10/14/tickets.aspx. Children ages five and under, and students with a valid ID from a PBC school are admitted free. All games of the PBC Tournament will be available via pay-per-view.
