GCSU to face Augusta in first round of PBC TournamentÂ
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University will travel to Augusta, Georgia, to face Augusta University in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament Tuesday (Nov. 19) at 6 p.m. at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Bobcats, who are 8-20 overall, are seeded fifth in the tournament, while the Jaguars, who are 18-6, are the tournament's No. 4 seed. The GCSU-Augusta winner will advance to Friday's (Nov. 22) semifinals against No. 1 seed Lander University (20-4) at 4:30 p.m. in Greenwood, South Carolina, at the Finis Horne Arena. Augusta has defeated GCSU in all three meetings this season.
The other semifinal will pit the No. 3 seed University of South Carolina-Aiken (12-7) against No. 2 seed Flagler College (12-10) at 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 22). The championship match will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 23) with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament.
Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased online in advance at https://peachbeltconference.org/sports/2020/10/14/tickets.aspx. Children ages five and under, and students with a valid ID from a PBC school are admitted free. All games of the PBC Tournament will be available via pay-per-view.
