Bobcats begin season ranked No. 13 in nation by ABCA

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University baseball team begins the 2025 season ranked No. 13 in the preseason American Baseball Coaches Association Division II Coaches Poll presented by Netting Professionals.

GCSU finished the 2024 campaign with a 37-22 ledger and made its 15th trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament where they advanced to the Southeast Super Regional for the first time in program history after winning the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

The Bobcats, who are the only PBC team in the poll, have six games this season against teams in the top 30. GCSU opens the 2025 season against No. 1 University of Tampa. The Bobcats will face the defending national champion Spartans in a three-game set that starts with a 6 p.m. contest  Friday (Jan. 31). The Bobcats also have a home-and-home series against No. 4 Catawba College, which won the Southeast Super Regional in 2024. The teams will face off at John Kurtz Field March 4 before traveling to Salisbury, North Carolina, April 22. GCSU will also face No. 24 University of Mount Olive Feb. 25 in a neutral-site contest in Lexington, South Carolina.
