As part of the Provost Visting Scholars program, Dr. John Belk will visit Georgia College & State University to discuss Writing Across the Curriculum, strengthening the Composition Program and writing poetry. The entire university community is invited to join the English Department at the following events:
Tuesday, Feb. 11
9 a.m.: Public presentation on Writing Across the Curriculum (A&S Auditorium)
2 p.m.: Faculty workshop on Writing Across the Curriculum (CTL Classroom)
Wednesday, Feb. 12
9 a.m.: Poetry reading (A&S 272)
10 a.m.: Workshop and Q&A on Publishing for Undergraduate Students (A&S 272)
3 p.m.: Poetry workshop for undergraduate and graduate students (A&S Auditorium)
Belk is an associate professor of English at Southern Utah University where he also directs the Composition Program. His poetry has appeared in Jet Fuel Review, The Maine Review, The Madison Review, The Fourth River, Sugar House Review, Salt Hill, Poetry South & Crab Orchard Review among others. In addition to his creative work, his academic writing can be found in Rhetoric Review, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, Composition Forum and edited anthologies.
