Wuerth named Peach Belt Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University baseball player Gabe Wuerth has been named the Player of the Week by the Peach Belt Conference.
The junior second baseman from Woodstock, Georgia, hit .524 (11-of-21) with a double, three triples and six RBI as the Bobcats won four of the five games played last week. Wuerth, who scored six runs, had two four-hit games, including a 4-for-5 outing against Augusta University with a triple and two RBI. He had two triples and drove in three runs in a win at Emmanuel (Ga.) University. Wuerth registered an .857 slugging percentage and a .630 on-base percentage for the week.
The Bobcats, who have won four games in a row, return to action Tuesday (March 4) with a 4 p.m. non-conference game at John Kurtz Field against No. 11 Catawba College in a rematch of last year's Southeast Super Regional.
