Portraiture and Presence

Portraiture and Presence

We are exhibiting student work on the second floor of the Ina Dillard Library - Ceramic art: Portraiture and Presence on March 31 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Let's take a closer look at faces! This art project demonstrates the ideas behind how sculptors sculpt faces. Students worked through ideas including presence, character, subverting ideals, absence of color, making faces and even the blank face. Identity and individualized portraits are sure to evoke and suggest presence.

The sculptures will be on display through April 25.

The students of Spring 2025 Ceramics Arts 3510 are Chloe Chivers, Clary Eidell, Emily Favre, Ellen Gunji, MaryEllen Hagberg, Katelyn Moorman, Bristol Parker, Ellen Patton, Debbie Pittman, Haley Reynolds, Phoebe Sercer and Samantha Stockham.
