Student Parking Policies Fall 2025

Student Parking Policies Fall 2025

Georgia College & State University's Parking Services will be implementing several changes to best accommodate parking permit holders and better utilize all available parking spaces. Changes to student permits will go into effect Monday, August 18, the first day of classes.

For students choosing to bring a vehicle to campus, there will be an elective fee of $50.00 per semester. The $87.00 mandatory parking & transportation fee covers parking infrastructure, lot maintenance and shuttle services.

Commuter student parking permits will be available based on a lottery and are no longer guaranteed for all students. Parking permit registration will become available based on class standing:
o Seniors and Graduate Students – July 1, 2025
o Juniors – July 8, 2025
o Sophomores – July 15, 2025
o Freshmen – July 22, 2025

Commuter students will be permitted to park in the Centennial Center, Irwin Street and Clarke Street parking lots.

On-campus residents will be permitted to park at the Centennial Center, Foundation Hall, The Depot gravel lot, The Depot South and West Campus lots. Parking permits for on-campus residents are guaranteed.

West Campus residents are classified as on-campus residents and not permitted to use commuter parking lots.

Residents will receive 3 free guest permits every 60 days. After these permits are used, a standard fee of $5.00 will be charged for each guest permit. A limited number of guest passes will be available first come, first served to campus each day.
