Crespo named Peach Belt Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University's Rodrigo Pérez Crespo has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week ending April 13.
It is the second weekly honor for Crespo this season.
Crespo, who is a junior from Ourense, Spain, went 2-0 in singles and doubles as the Bobcats recorded wins over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and No. 21 University of North Georgia. Crespo provided the match-clinching point in a 4-3 win over UNG, beating Robin Eldin 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. He also defeated ABAC's Luka Blache 6-0, 6-3. Crespo partnered with Chase Martin to beat the ABAC doubles team 6-0 and UNG's Juan Cruz Blanco and Eldin 6-1, both at No. 1 doubles.
Crespo Improved to 12-3 in singles play this spring with a 3-1 mark against conference opponents. He is 11-2 at No. 1 doubles.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday (April 16) when they travel to Columbus, Georgia, for a 3 p.m. PBC match against No. 25 Columbus State University.
