Dr. Kerry Neville selected as featured author (and the only American author) at University of Limerick's Creative Writing Festival
Dr. Kerry Neville was an invited and featured author (and the only American author) at University of Limerick's Creative Writing Festival, in Limerick, Ireland, April 9-12, 2025. She read from her forthcoming memoir, MOMMA MAY BE MAD, and was featured alongside some of the most important contemporary Irish writers including international bestsellers Liz Nugent and Marian Keyes, Booker long-listed finalist Donal Ryan, Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Muldoon, Booker Prize laureate Paul Lynch and Joseph O’Connor, Frank McCourt Chair in Creative Writing at University of Limerick.
In a welcome address to the festival, Ireland's President Michael D. Higgins said, "Writing is one of the most profound expressions and one of the most valuable tools for the expression of our shared humanity. Allowing us to explore the depths of human experience, to give voice to the silenced, to illuminate the complexities of our world, it draws on both inherited culture and imagination...The UL Creative Writing Festival is a celebration of the written word and of the enduring power of storytelling. It is a reminder, too, that writing, though often a solitary pursuit, thrives within a network of support and shared enthusiasm."
