Three Bobcats named to the All-Peach Belt Team
AUGUSTA, Ga. | Three Georgia College & State University Women's Tennis Players have been named to the All-Peach Belt Conference Team.
Chiara Santoro and Jada Young were named to All-PBC second team in singles, while Santoro teamed up with Rachel Black to be named to the All-PBC second team in doubles.
It is the third All-Peach Belt nod in singles for both Santoro and Young, who were both named to the second team in 2023 and to the first team in 2024. It is also the second all-conference accolade in doubles for Santoro as she was named to the second team in 2023, while this is the first honor for Black.
Santoro, who is a senior from Santa Ursula, Spain, compiled a 14-11 ledger in singles, with an 11-8 mark at No. 1 singles for the Bobcats in 2025, while Young, who is a senior from Hilon Head Island, South Carolina, posted an 13-12 mark in singles, including a 9-9 record at No. 2 singles for GCSU.
Santoro and Black, who is a freshman from Valdosta, Georgia, went 13-5 at No.1 doubles for the Bobcats.
GCSU, which is No. 28 nationally by the ITA and ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division II regional rankings, returns to action this weekend at the PBC Tournament in Columbus, Georgia. The Bobcats, who are seeded fourth, will face No. 5 seed Augusta Friday (April 25) at noon in the first round of the single-elimination tournament.
