GCSU's Creative Writing Program Visiting Writers Series presents Michael Garriga, with students Michael Sevcik & Kai Beck.

Michael Garriga holds a BA from the University of Louisville and a Ph.D. from FSU, where he served as editor of The Southeast Review. He is co-founder and editor of Fiction Southeast, an online journal dedicated to short fiction. Along with Dr. Sharon Kubasak, he serves as faculty advisor for BW's student-run journal, The Mill. He has been published in Esquire, Southern Review, New Letters, Oxford American and elsewhere. Most recently, a story from his collection, The Book of Duels (Milkweed, 2014), was selected for The Best Small Fictions anthology. He was awarded a 2016 Creative Workforce Fellowship from the Community Partnership for the Arts and Culture.

Join students Micael Sevcik and Kai Beck for a reading Sept. 16 from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the Pat Peterson Museum Education Room.
