GCSU selected fifth in PBC
AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll for women's volleyball has been released.
Georgia College & State University has been picked to finish fifth in the league.
Lander University, which won the PBC regular-season title in 2024, was the top pick in the poll as they collected four first-place votes and 23 points, while Augusta University collected a first-place vote and was second with 21 points. Flagler College, who won the 2024 league tournament, got a first-place vote and was in third place with 17 points and was followed by the University of South Carolina-Aiken (15), GCSU (9) and Middle Georgia State University (5).
The Bobcats return 17 players from last year's squad that finished in fifth place in the Peach Belt. They open the 2025 campaign by welcoming Albany State University, Emory & Henry University, Rollins College and Young Harris College to the Centennial Center Sept. 5-6 for the 10-match Bobcat Classic. GCSU will host Emory & Henry at 11:30 a.m. and Young Harris College at 7 p.m. on the opening day.
