MICHAEL GARRIGA holds a BA from the University of Louisville and a Ph.D. from Florida State University, where he served as editor of The Southeast Review. He is co-founder and editor of Fiction Southeast, an online journal dedicated to short fiction. Along with Dr. Sharon Kubasak, he serves as faculty advisor for BW's student-run journal, The Mill. He has been published in Esquire, Southern Review, New Letters, Oxford American and elsewhere. Most recently, a story from his collection, The Book of Duels (Milkweed, 2014), was selected for The Best Small Fictions anthology. He was awarded a 2016 Creative Workforce Fellowship from the Community Partnership for the Arts and Culture.
