"Land Use Zoning": Zoom session with distinguished GCSU alumnus Cameron Kline
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m., distinguished GCSU alumnus Cameron Kline, an attorney at Freeman Mathis & Gary, will lead a Zoom session on “Land Use & Zoning: An Examination of the Local Government Process in Georgia.” Local governments handle many things that are critical to people's everyday lives, but few are as “hot button” as local development and land use. In fact, large development projects generally drive the most engagement from citizens because the land use/zoning process in Georgia affords citizens the opportunity to interact directly with their local elected officials. In this discussion, participants will delve into the local government legislative process with an emphasis on land use and zoning by examining the structures of local governments in Georgia and the process by which proposed developments are considered by local governments.
