GCSU Athletics surpasses Day of Giving goal, raising over $190,000 for student-athletes

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University Athletics proudly announces the success of its annual Athletics Day of Giving, which raised $190,688 from 1,169 gifts, surpassing its goal of 1,000 gifts and reaching 116.9% of the campaign target.

This year's results represent a 22% increase in total gifts and an 11% increase in funds raised compared to last year, marking the most successful Athletics Day of Giving in program history.

"This is what Bobcat Nation is all about," said Director of Athletics Wendell Staton. "When our community comes together, incredible things happen. The outpouring of support from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends truly demonstrates the care and commitment our supporters have for our student-athletes. We are deeply grateful to everyone who showed up big for Bobcat Athletics."

Funds raised during Athletics Day of Giving directly support GCSU's student-athletes by enhancing resources in areas such as training, nutrition, travel, recovery, and equipment—all of which contribute to their success on and off the field.

"Bobcat supporters know their collective generosity can provide a competitive edge for student athletes," said Vice President for University Advancement Seth Walker. "Every gift, no matter the size, has a direct and immediate impact on our student-athletes' experience. These contributions help ensure they have the tools, resources, and support necessary to compete at the highest level while representing Georgia College with excellence."

The Athletics Day of Giving is an annual initiative that invites the GCSU community to rally around Bobcat Athletics and invest in the future of its student-athletes. This year's campaign once again showcased the strength of Bobcat Nation and the enduring generosity of the Georgia College community.
